A PIECE OF OUR LANDS TRAVELS WITH US

Project:
A piece of our lands travels with us (Una parte de nuestras tierras viaja con nosotros)
Location: Brighton, CO – 2024
Artist: Sasha Primo
Commissioner: Adams County

The project features an 8ft x 8ft vertical wood-frame mural structure painted as a huge jaguar head, integrated with asphalt art in the parking area to create an interactive space for visitors. A mask-making workshop onsite allowed visitors to produce cardboard masks , contributing to the mural.

A ground mural featuring a colibri (hummingbird), captures the essence of Latin American culture. The colibri, symbolizing joy and energy, is surrounded by vibrant colors that represent the region's lively festivals, diverse landscapes, and rich traditions. It is inspired from indigenous textiles and art crafts, celebrating the harmony and vibrancy of Latin American life.
