This piece is inspired by the traditional tecuani jaguar masks from the Guerrero state in Mexico and was made in Puebla in the beginning of the pandemics – July 2020.

In this work I started by exploring a color abstraction, specially interested in taking oil painting to different saturation levels. Then I built the canvas for this particular shape in order to break with the rigid rectangular form.
