Spiral Maze was an immersive installation I created for the Adams County Latino Festival in Brighton, Colorado. This was my second year at the festival – this installation is an expansion on last year’s “A piece of our lands travel with us”

Inspired by Indigenous ceremonial centers of Latin America, I wanted to invite people into a journey through stone and art — a reflection on life, community, and collective memory.

At its core stood three double-sided wooden murals —the condor, the jaguar, and Quetzalcóatl— symbols of strength, wisdom, and transformation.
At the center, I placed a circular mirror reflecting the sky and each visitor, echoing Mesoamerican rituals of self-recognition.

It was beautiful to see people walking the maze so intentionally, truly respecting the journey.

During the offering workshop, participants began decorating balloons, and suddenly it went viral — everyone joined in.

The festival felt like a collective act of joy and strength, a reminder that celebrating together is also a form of empowerm
